Five Generations and Counting - On You!
What about you?
Since 1889, the Schoharie County Historical Society has been preserving the Old Stone Fort Museum and its collection of more than 50,000 artifacts related to the history of the county. The museum complex has grown to include the Badgley Annex, Warner House/Scribner Exhibit, Jackson Law Office, Oliver School House, Lacko Barn, Hartmann's Dorf Palatine House, and Schaeffer Dutch Barn. Exhibits in these historic buildings span over 300 years of Schoharie County heritage. If you are interested in researching the Schoharie County region or an ancestor, our library and archives house thousands of essential rare books, original documents, and genealogical collections. Our goal is to continue bringing this history alive by opening all buildings, furnishing and enriching them with more interpreters in period dress and interactive exhibits.
